A space to share stories, experiences, hopes, and envisionings with and for fat and/or disabled kin

In November, a group of us met for a beautifully tender space. The conversation flowed naturally into through:
- foundational childhood memories and experiences that informed the way we related to our bodies due to comparison and the perception others had of us
- how people living at the intersection of fatness and disability are (not) being heard in the separate community spaces — particularly the implications of the fat experience within disability spaces
- scyborg-ism — what is it? what are the possible implications for imagining our collective futures as disabled + fat folks?
We’ll continue to hold Expanding Accessibility conversations throughout the year! The next one will be held during the final week of February. If you’re a fat and/or disabled person who would like to join, please fill out this meeting poll for us to find the best time:
