Hello, how are you? My name is Janae (they/she/he) & my spirit name is Thunder Bear in The Clouds. I come from fisher river cree nation, japan, and jamaica with roots to africa, and scotland. I belong to the bear clan. I hold 2SIQ (Two-Spirit, Indigiqueer; tastawiniywak), neuroexpansive (AuDHD, c-PTSD+), disabled, and survivor lineages. I am also a (cat) mom, eldest sister/sibling, partner/spouse, daughter, sundancer, but most importantly a spirit learning how to be human! I enjoy spending time outside, creating━lately beading, hide tanning, drawing, and attending ceremony (in fact I am gearing up to attend my second year of sundance in fisher river).
Tending to my relationships with the earth, my ancestors, my family, and wider kinship network are very important to me. I bring my whole self into my work rooted in my diverse lineages and lived-experience. My work is currently situated on the unceded traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations, in so-called vancouver, british columbia.
I am offering a spirit-guided mentorship program for those who wish to deepen their connection to spirit and further open their channels. My work typically centers 2SIQTIP, 2SLGBTQIA+, BIPOC, disabled, neurodivergent/neuroexpansive folks, but is open to all allied kin.
RECLAIM RECLAIM is designed for those carrying intergenerational trauma, rage, grief, and the weight of oppressive systems that weren’t made to hold us. It supports you in reconnecting with your body, spirit, and creative power. This mentorship creates space to transform grief and rage, shed what no longer serves, and step into power as queer, BIPOC, disabled, and neurodivergent leaders, artists, and healers. The program blends storytelling, movement & stillness, energy work, breath, and somatic practices through three one-on-one sessions each month, plus weekly check-ins via voice note, message, or email.
The program is structured around three pillars:
I’m currently launching an application for scholarship(s), sliding scale, and community care fund support.
I’m also open to alternative forms of reciprocal exchange and currently looking for support with admin (emails, billing, schedule maintenance, bookkeeping), marketing (website, social media, promotion), grant and fund gathering, energy work, and bodywork for locals.
